Customization is the process of matching the look, feel, and functionality of Klevu quick search, search results page, and category pages to match your store.
Prerequisites
The steps outlined in this article assume some steps have already been completed:
You have already completed the Klevu Shopware installation
Customizing the Quick Search
The quick search is the popup window that appears as soon as you interact with the search form and populates results as you are typing.
This is powered by Klevu Headless SDK OR Klevu Theme (based on storefront setup) for a fast, responsive, and configurable search with autocomplete functionality. You can customize any aspect of this quick search by overriding the default behavior. Your frontend development team can add some snippets of JavaScript to hook into events and customize the integration, allowing you to change not only the look & feel but also the API calls being sent to Klevu and manipulate the response data coming back.
For examples on how to override the Klevu Theme and customize your quick search, please check our headless SDK and template JS guides. Within that documentation, you will find examples and snippets to copy and paste.
Customizing Search Results Page
When a search request is made, Klevu ensures the most relevant results appear in the most appropriate order, but the look & feel, and functionality that the customer interacts with are entirely in your control.
Therefore if you would like to make any changes to the look&feel and functionality of your search results pages, you would do this in exactly the same way you would do it before. We recommend sharing our headless SDK and template JS guides with your frontend team.
Customizing Category Pages
With the Klevu Category Merchandising add-on, Klevu can also power your category pages. Similar to the Search Results Page, we control the ordering of the products on the page and leave the look & feel and functionality to you.
Therefore if you would like to make any changes to the look&feel and functionality of your category pages, you would do this in exactly the same way you would do it before. Please speak to your frontend development team.
