Update Permissions for Klevu Shopify App

Shopify is deprecating the product REST APIs, and as a result, Klevu is migrating to using Shopify’s product feed APIs. This migration also allows us to leverage Shopify’s Markets functionality for better data sync and internationalization features.

To ensure continued functionality and data syncing between your Shopify store and Klevu, you will need to update your app permissions.

How to Update Your Klevu App Permissions:

  1. Go to your Shopify admin.
  2. Select the Klevu app.
  3. If prompted, review and accept the updated permissions to ensure continued data syncing through the product feed APIs.
  4. If your permissions are already up to date, you will not be shown the Shopify permissions page and will be redirected directly to the Klevu app.

FAQs

Why Do I Need to Update the Permission for Klevu?
When you first installed the Klevu app, you granted certain permissions to allow us to access your store data. With the upcoming API changes, additional permissions are needed to support new features, such as product feed APIs and Shopify Markets integration. Without these permissions, we cannot continue syncing your store data with Klevu.
What Happens If I Don’t Update the Permissions?
If you choose not to update the permissions:
You will continue to have access to the existing functionality of the Klevu Merchant Center and search.
However, starting in Q4, the data sync between your Shopify store and Klevu will stop as we move to the new product feed APIs.
Please note, while you will still be able to access the Klevu Merchant Center and other features, your product data will no longer be updated unless the new permissions are accepted.
Can I Refuse to Accept the Additional Permissions?
You may choose not to accept the new permissions if your store does not rely on Klevu for syncing product data. However, without accepting them, you will no longer be able to access the Klevu app and will need to contact our support team to restore your previous permission settings manually.
Why Can’t Klevu Perform This Action on My Behalf?
For security reasons, Shopify requires the store administrator to manually approve any changes in app permissions. Even if Klevu has collaborator access, only an administrator can grant the necessary changes.

Conclusion:

We recommend updating the permissions as soon as possible to avoid disruption to your data sync processes by Q4. If you have any questions or need help with the process, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team.
